Welcome 2012! Here’s hoping that everyone had a beautiful Christmas and New Year’s holiday. We are looking forward to the spring semester. Classes will resume on Thursday, January 5th.

Fall 2012 Registration forms will be distributed to current students starting Thursday, January 5th. Those families will have until Tuesday, January 31st to return their forms if they are planning on attending CDO in the fall of 2012. After the CDO office processes those registration forms, we will be able to determine which classes will have openings for next fall. If there are openings, the office will start contacting families that are on the CDO Wait List.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Spending time with family and friends is such a blessing in our lives.

CDO is an especially happy place during the holidays. Look for the hallways to fill with Christmas art work on the walls…..we definitely keep the glitter suppliers in business the month of December! There will be some very special chapel times as we talk about Jesus Christ’s birth. The children will learn what it means to give to those less fortunate with our Holiday Outreach Projects. And, the 3′s and 4′s classes will each present their Christmas Programs……you will not want to miss them!

CDO is thankful every day for our students and their families, and especially during this very meaningful time of the year.

Well…maybe it’s still warm outside, but pumpkins on the church front yard mean fall is arriving. The kids at CDO have been having fun playing in the patch! “Date with Dad” was a huge success;fun was had by all, especially the dads!

Settling in…

It’s been a great start to the school year! Thank you to all the parents that attended the Parent Meeting on 8/28/11. Your children are settling in to the new school year very nicely. We still have a couple of tears in the Toddler classes, but that’s to be expected and perfectly normal.

Toddlers are developmentally at an age where it can be a little difficult to separate from Mommy and Daddy. Rest assured that this doesn’t last long! In most cases, your child stops crying right after you leave! The best thing you can do is to give your child a big “goodbye” hug and kiss….tell them that you love them and that you know that they are going to have a fun day. If your child perceives that YOU are happy and comfortable with school, it helps THEM be happy and comfortable, too.

CDO Family Directories will be coming out soon. If you have had any changes in your information since the beginning of school, please let Celie know ASAP.

And, please remember to ALWAYS bring Celie a copy of your child’s immunization record each time they receive a shot. It’s so important that our information is current.

Hello CDO families,

CDO Teachers are busy this week preparing for your children to return to school next week. Also, this week you will have the opportunity to come meet your child’s teacher and see the classroom.

Please make sure you attend the mandatory parent’s information meeting on Sunday, August 28th at 4:00pm in the TUMC Sanctuary. School will begin on Tuesday, August 30th and Wednesday, August 31st. As a reminder, CDO will dismiss at 12:00 noon on the first two days.

The CDO staff is excited about starting a new school year with your children! Welcome back to our returning students, and we look forward to meeting our “new” kids. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, but note that most of those questions will no doubt be answered at the parents meeting on Sunday.

Happy Summer!

CDO is finishing up the last week of summer school on Friday, July 1st. We have had fun this past month…..making smoothies, outdoor water play, planting sunflower seeds, making Father’s Day gifts, and running a lemonade stand! CDO will be closed for the rest of the summer, until school begins on Tuesday, August 30th. Voicemail and email will be regularly checked during closure. For those families attending this coming fall, please look for a packet that will be mailed around July 12th, which contains several forms and more information about the upcoming school year. Have a great rest of your summer and best wishes to our “graduated” 4′s classes as they start kindergarten this fall. We will miss you!

Welcome to the new CDO website! We are so happy to have this great new site with many changes and more to come. The site provides information about the school, admission policies, tuition and class information including student to teacher ratios and staff information/bios. As parents, please take advantage of the Parents Corner where you can find information from the Handbook, a school calendar, tips from our staff and much more. We hope to add to our photo album over time with beautiful pictures of our children and their activities at school. The site is designed to be updated frequently with current information and news so check back often!
