Nursery, Toddler and 2’s classes meet Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday, and 3’s and 4’s meet Tuesday – Friday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Please observe these hours. Our teachers need time in the morning to prepare for class and time in the afternoon for cleaning up without children present. Your child will be placed in the late day program if you don’t arrive to pick him/her up by 2:05 p.m. If someone other than you will be picking up your child, a written note so indicating MUST be left with the child’s teacher or Director. In some instances, a phone call to the Director may suffice. The teachers and teaching assistants will meet from 8:30 am – 9:30 am one morning each month. On the mornings of teachers meetings, classes for the children will begin at 9:30 am.
The 3’s and 4’s are dropped off on the playground each morning. The CDO teachers will get children out of the car curbside. Please make sure your child stays buckled in their car seat until the teacher comes to the car. Parents must stay in their car to help the car line move smoothly. We also request that you refrain from using cell phones in the car line.
A special note to parents: If your child cries when you are dropping him/her off, it is permissible to leave the child with his/her teacher and depart as soon as possible. Children usually stop crying before the parent reaches the car. Your child’s teacher will inform you if the crying persists.
Supplies to bring. Please send with your child everyday:
1. Lunch, drink and cup (all ages)
2. Blanket and security items for nap (all ages)
3. Extra set of weather appropriate clothes (all ages)
4. Plenty of diapers (at least 4 if not toilet trained)
At the beginning of the year, please bring:
1. 2 Large containers of baby wipes (nursery, toddler, 2’s classes)
2. 2 boxes of Kleenex (3’s & 4’s classes)
3. 1 box of spoons (nursery, toddler, 2’s classes)
4. 1 box of forks (3’s & 4’s classes)
PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING!!!
A word about snacks. CDO provides a nutritious snack each day. A calendar stating the snack provided is located in the CDO office. Substitutions are noted on the calendar.
A word about lunches. The CDO program is committed to good nutrition as an integral part of the preschool experience. Not only do the children benefit physically, they are also learning the principles of good nutrition. We would appreciate your cooperation in sending nutritious foods such as sandwiches, cheese, fruit cut up, vegetables, etc. in your child’s lunch box.
There is an optional early drop off/late pick up option.
Guidelines for this service are as follows:
* The sign up list is on the Director’s desk in the CDO office (first come first serve).
* Limit of eight children each day.
* September 14th will be the first day this service is available.
* Times and prices: 8:15 am – 9:00 am ($8) 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm ($8)
* If you sign up and don’t come or if your child is here for only part of the time, you are still responsible for paying the $8.
* Pay the teacher CASH only that is staying with the children.
* There will be NO early drop off on teacher’s meeting days.
* The Director reserves the right to deny the early/late service to those families that don’t follow these guidelines.
