Inclement Weather
CDO will follow AISD’s decision on the closing of school due to severe weather. In the event that AISD decides to begin late CDO will be closed for the day.
Field Trips
Each teacher plans for the field trips that best fit the maturity level of her class. Your child’s teacher will ask for parent volunteers to go on field trips so that all children can feel secure and receive the greatest benefit from the trip. Transportation must be sufficient for each child to be secured by a seat belt.
Safety
CDO cannot assume responsibility for accidents. The Director and staff will take every precaution through experienced supervision to prevent their occurrence.
In the event of a power failure, the Director will have the discretion to close school until power is restored.
The CDO program practices firedrills, emergency evacuation procedures in case of severe weather, and lockdowns.
Water Activities
September and May are typically the months the teachers plan for sprinkler play. Parents will be notified in advance of the activity and date.
